My second collaboration with Montréal’s francophone music festival, Francos in 2022.
As a direct extension from the explosion of life concept from the previous year, we imagined an urban landscape, one-year later slowly being taken over by new flora and fauna. 2022 was the first year we could invite international artists back to Montreal, so the idea was to create a sense of “coming home”. I used the motif of a beacon, or lighthouse to call participants back to Place des arts and to a sense of community.
The 20ft tall installation was built in the festival grounds with a working multicoloured pulsing light.
